Surprise!

Earlier this week I was surprised to notice my aloe vera plant preparing to flower, an event hitherto unknown for this aloe vera plant! Something so unexpected called for a trio of haiku.
Windows needing washed
No matter to new-formed bud
Sunlight still gets through.
Day by day passing
nothing special. Only stop
and notice new life.
Years on window ledge
Uneventfully alive
Newness interrupts.
